VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
MEETING MINUTES
January 16, 2012
Mayor Don Robinson called the Meeting of the Mt. Zion Village Board of Trustees to order at 5:15 p.m. The following Board Members were present for roll call: Matthew Trusner, Dean Otta, Cathy Derby, Rick Bright, Donna Scales, and Kevin Fritzsche. Also present were Chief Doug Dunn, Grant Corum, Director of Public Works, Julie Miller, Village Treasurer, Judy Roessler, Director of Parks & Recreation, and Tammy Mense, Village Clerk.
Pledge of Allegiance
Consent Agenda: A motion was made by Trustee Bright to approve the Consent Agenda as presented, seconded by Trustee Fritzsche. A breakdown of Fund Warrants for the period ending January 3, 2012 is as follows: General Fund - $65,524.02, Convention Center - $2,668.70, Motor Fuel Tax Fund - $51,719.78, Water Revenue Fund - $33,880.47, Sewer Revenue Fund - $6,880.62, and Risk Management - $71.52. A breakdown of Fund Warrants for the period ending January 16, 2012 is as follows: General Fund - $24,939.85, Convention Center - $2311.21, Water Fund – $5,714.44, and Sewer Fund - $19,356.07. A roll call vote was taken: Otta-yea, Trusner-yea, Bright-yea, Derby-yea, Fritzsche-yea, and Scales-yea. Motion carried 6-yea, 0-nay, 0-absent.
Public Forum: Two (2) people were present; no one wished to speak at this time.
Administrator & Staff Items: Director Corum stated his Department is continuing the remodel project for the Police Department; and the new AMI meter installation is coming along favorably.
Chief Dunn stated steady progress is being made on the remodel project, and still awaiting State Contract on the purchase of a squad car---funding for the car has been received by the Village.
Treasurer Miller stated the Budget process is set to begin; with no red flags regarding expenditures incurred with the recent construction of the Convention Center/Village Hall; a part-time employee has been hired to help man the front desk and give tours of the Convention Center.
Clerk Mense informed the Board that the Village has received a request for a Class B Liquor License (package liquor).
Mayor & Trustee Items: Trustee Trusner inquired how plowing went after the first snow fall? Corum replied that it went will however one complaint was received from a Henderson Street resident.
Adjournment: A motion was made by Trustee Bright to adjourn the January 16, 2012, Village Board meeting, seconded by Trustee Fritzsche. A voice vote was unanimous; motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 5:22 p.m.
