MEETING MINUTES
The Mt. Zion Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting was called to order at 5:30 p. m., by Jim Mandoline, the following commissioners were present for roll call: Cindy Staudenmaier, Danny Underwood, Mark McCollom, John Trusner, and Ron Johnson. Jeff Althoff called to say he was on the way.
MINUTES: A motion was made by John Trusner to approve the June 7th, 2011 Meeting Minutes
with corrections, seconded by Ron Johnson. A voice vote was taken, motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC FORUM: No one wish to speak at this time.
OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS:
Potts explained that the ordinance regulating the location of adult entertainment facilities within the Village. This ordinance presented was drafted by Village Attorney Flynn who also provided studies to be placed on record as reasonable data for justification on a need for regulation. This ordinance sets a distance of 1,500 feet between adult entertainment facilities and residential areas, schools, parks, day care center, places of religious worship, or another adult entertainment facility as studies have shown that crime increases within 1,500 feet of adult entertainment facilities.
Ron Johnson moved that a recommendation to adopt be sent to the Village Board of the Ordinance amending Section 150 of the Zoning Code Restricting the Placement and Operation of Adult Entertainment Facilities as presented. Seconded by Cindy Staudenmaier, MeCollom, Yea, Underwood, Yea, Trusner Yea, Staudenmaier Yea, Johnson Yea, motion carried.
OTHER BUSINESS: None
ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by John Trusner to adjourn the August 8th, 2011 meeting at 5:45 p. in.; seconded by Danny Underwood, motion carried unanimously.
